Ayurvedic massage therapy is a hands on treatment using warmed herbal oils with specific healing and therapeutic properties.  It is just one part of the Ayurvedic system, a traditional medical system native to India.  The massage or 'abyanga' techniques are individualised to a person's body type or 'dosha'. Re-balancing of the body's system is achieved through skilled massage strokes and working with energy pathways called 'nadi channels'.  

Clients will fill out a questionnaire to determine their 'vikruti dosha'. Most of us will demonstrate one dosha, a few will have two equal doshas and the odd few will have three doshas in equal proportion. An aromatic oil blend made with wild grown ayurvedic herbs is chosen for the massage based on the predominant body type.
